Following a collision, drivers are legally obligated to remain at the scene and provide others involved with the following information:
Your name and address
Driver’s licence number
Insurance information
Registered owner of the vehicle
Leaving the scene after an accident or failing to provide this information could result in being charged for the offence of ‘Failure to Remain’ and 7 demerit points. A conviction stays on your driving record for three (3) years and you may have difficulty getting insured.
