Seatbelt Violations
Seatbelt violations include:
  • The driver or passenger of a motor vehicle not wearing their seatbelt (or not having it properly secured)
  • The driver not ensuring all passengers under 16 are wearing seatbelts
  • The driver not ensuring any children or infants are properly and safely secured
  • Driving a motor vehicle with faulty or missing seatbelt(s)

With very few exceptions, driving without a seatbelt carries a $200 fine and two (2) demerit points. A conviction stays on your driving record for (3) years.
